Jan Allegretti is an author and editor of books, articles, and other projects dealing with animal rights, wellness, and welfare; personal growth and wellness; and environmental and spiritual issues. She is a consultant in holistic health care for animals, and has been a passionate advocate for animal rights and welfare for more than twenty years. She has written numerous articles on the subject, including the column Beyond Body, Mind, and Spirit for the In Defense of Animals e-newsletter. Jan is the author of two books, The Complete Holistic Dog Book: Home Health Care for Our Canine Companions, co-authored with Katy Sommers, and Listen to the Silence: Lessons from Trees and Other Masters.
A harpist, composer, and author, Joel has been a pioneer in the healing power of music. He has presented concerts and workshops both throughout the United States, and in eleven countries worldwide. He has recorded over 3,000 healing sessions for individual transformation, and his music and writing are used to support many modalities of therapy. He beautifully presents the ability of sound as a medium for facilitating changes in consciousness.
Rebecca Aum is a breathworker, bodyworker and naturalist. She has been teaching Transformation Breathing since the 1980's when she co-directed a rebirthing, meditation, and yoga center in England. She has lived in the Mendocino area for over 30 years, 9 of which she spent in a remote area in the woods, and holds a degree in Ecotourism from Humboldt State University. Her love of dancing recently led her to organize the Caspar Dance Jam. Rebecca believes the best way to change our lives is by changing our thoughts and beliefs.
Kari Bernardi, formerly Director of the Monterey County Farm-To-School Partnership, has been instrumental in bringing fresh organic fruits and vegetables into schools, writing healthy school food policies, and teaching kids farm fresh nutrition education. Kari is a certified Gourmet Raw Food Chef, and was one of the first Living Light students over 10 years ago. Currently, Kari is sharing her passion and years of expertise as a staff instructor at Living Light Culinary Arts Institute.
Fred Bisci, Ph.D.
Scientist and nutritional counselor, with a private practice in Staten Island, New York for over 30 years, co-host of a television show in Staten Island, and 30+ year raw fooder, Fred travels the world lecturing on health, nutrition and the raw lifestyle. A fascinating, knowledgeable speaker and an expert in the specific long term effects of following a raw diet.
Author of several books including Raw Family: A True Story of Awakening, 12 Steps to Raw Food, and Green for Life, Victoria has been an inspirational raw food educator for many years. She and her family recovered from a variety of health challenges when they discovered the raw food diet, and "The Raw Family," including Victoria, her husband Igor, daughter Valya, and son Sergei have traveled the world teaching about the health benefits of a raw food lifestyle since 1994.
Charles Bush is a philosopher and school designer. He has created and operated a wide range of innovative, award winning educational programs serving both teens and adults. Charles currently lives on the Mendocino Coast where he works with the Noyo Food Forest, the Coast Senior Center, and the Mendocino Coast 20/20 project. He is currently writing a book called Yankee Sages - Mysticism and Politics in Post Modern America.

Michael is founder and developer of E3Live. His wife Tamera is the formulator of some of the top-selling green formulas on the market today. Michael has been a lecturer on health and living foods for many years. Dr. Karin Dina, D.C. has been studying and practicing raw food nutrition since 1990. A Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Colorado and Palmer College of Chiropractic West, and an honors student in naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University, Dr. Karin has also extensively studied plant biology, advanced nutrition and nutritional biochemistry. Dr. Rick Dina
Dr. Rick Dina, D.C. has been studying and practicing raw vegan nutrition since 1987. He worked at Hippocrates Health Institute and for the Juiceman before entering Life Chiropractic College in 1993. After graduating in 1997, he practiced at True North Health Education Center for four years, helping patients recover from high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, diabetes, autoimmune diseases and other nutritionally related health challenges with fasting and vegan nutrition. After teaching at Bastyr University, Dr. Rick is now in private practice at Living Health Chiropractic and Wellness Center in San Rafael, CA with his wife, Dr. Karin Dina.
Living Light chef graduate Dorit of Serenity Spaces, founder of the Raw Film Festival of Hollywood will facilitate our mini film festival at this year’s Expo. Besides organizing film festivals, she tours the United States and Canada to promote the message of conscious eating through her book, Celebrating Our Raw Nature.
Trish Gallagher is devoted to the harvest of wild edibles and has studied herbs and wild foods for over 15 years. It is her passion to bring wild sea vegetables to the table in delicious and suprising combinations that nourish body, mind and spirit. Ocean Harvest Sea Vegetable Collective is devoted to hand harvesting these amazing sea plants and the preservation of their habitat. Trish is a member of the Ocean Protection Coalition and the Pacific SeaWeed Stewardship alliance.
Shanti GoldsCousens comes from the depth of her experience in the spiritual and healing arts. After many years of study she has been ordained as an Essene Priestess in the Essene Order of Light, and she is currently assisting Gabriel Cousens, MD, her husband, specifically in the preparation and training of priestesses. She co-teaches the Sacred Relationship Course at the Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center in Patagonia, Arizona, with Gabriel. She has earned her Master's Degree in Vegan and Live-Food Nutrition from the University of Integrated Science.
Shanti became a vegan at age 16 and she began her study of yoga at the age of nineteen. She would spend 16 years with Kali Ray, living, learning, training, meditating and teaching. In 1986, she became among the first of the trained Kali Ray TriYoga® teachers and taught as a Senior Teacher at the Kali Ray TriYoga® headquarters for 16 years. For seven years, she studied and worked under Elizabeth Van Buren, Director of the College of Botanical Healing Arts in California, in the art, science and spirit of aromatherapy.

A graduate of the University of South Carolina with a B.S. degree in Nursing, Jackie has 30 years of experience in various areas of patient care and education. As a nurse, Jackie has worked for 33 years with patients with all diseases and conditions, and now supports the health of her clients by teaching live food cuisine. She is co-owner, with her husband Gideon Graff, of Sprout Raw Foods, a company dedicated to teaching and promoting the living foods lifestyle for mind, body, and spiritual awareness.
Dr. Doug Graham
Dr. Graham, a world-class athletic trainer and respected lecturer, is an animal rights and environmental activist who has been a raw vegan for over 25 years. He is the author of Grain Damage and Nutrition and Athletic Performance, and The 80/10/10 Diet. Dr. Graham conducts workshops and fasting retreats internationally.
Diane Haworth is an internationally recognized athlete, motivational speaker, newspaper columnist, and a former strength trainer for the Navy SEALs. An inspiration to many throughout the years as an authority on fitness and nutrition, she has touched the lives of thousands, encouraging all towards obtaining new levels of health, fitness, and overall well-being. She has been a spokesperson for Vita-Mix Corporation for the past nine years in both the United States and Europe. As a 100% raw athlete, Diane was once again on a first place mountain bike racing team this year, and placed 20th in the World Road Master's Championships in Austria. At age 47, she is still a sponsored athlete.
Barbara is a certified fitness trainer and a certified raw food nutrition educator. She received her raw food education at Living Light Culinary Arts Institute from Rick and Karin Dina, and her fitness certification through International Sports Sciences Assocation (ISSA). Barbara's intention is to educate others about the importance of fitness and nutrition in their lives. She is co-founder, with Petra Schulte, of the local Fort Bragg raw food potluck group SHARE Network (Simply Happy About Raw Eating).

As a pioneer live food educator in the U.S., Viktoras Kulvinskas has been called “The Father of Living Foods.” After a career as a consultant with The Apollo Mission, M.I.T., The Smithsonian, and Harvard University, Viktoras and Dr. Ann Wigmore founded the Hippocrates Health Institute in Boston in 1970. Dan is co-director of Living Light International, president of The Institute for Vibrant Living and a co-creator with Cherie Soria of Raw World, the bi-annual raw-fooders' dream event in Costa Rica. Dan has been devoted to creating events that promote the raw/vegan lifestyle internationally. He is also a certified Hippocrates Health Educator and graduate of Anthony Robbins' Mastery University.
Susan Lightfoot first dug her hands into the earth as a young child in Louisiana and has been connected with farmers' movements worldwide since then. Her activism has led her to Jamaica, Chiapas, Navajo Country and beyond. Currently she teaches teenagers how to grow organic food at The Learning Garden, an on-site Farm-to-School program at Fort Bragg High School.
Living Light chef graduate and author of Elaina’s Pure Joy Living Kitchen, Elaina created the Soulstice Café in San Mateo, California, and owns Pure Joy Living Foods. Elaina is a professional chef, consultant, and lifestyle counselor with a passion for helping people change their lives with raw foods. She teaches classes and caters raw food events internationally and is on faculty at Lving Light Culinary Arts Institute.
Martine is passionate about raw living foods, and loves to create recipes. Her dishes are colorful, delightful, and original. She is a graduate of both the Gourmet Raw Food Chef Certification Series and the Raw Culinary Arts Professional Chef Certification Program at Living Light, and is currently pursuing an 18-month Culinary Management Training Program. She is kitchen manager for Living Light Culinary Arts Institute, and is the first Living Light student who has completed all of the Living Light certification programs, including all of the Science of Raw Food Nutrition classes, in addition to a one-year internship at Living Light.
Matt Monarch has been 100% raw vegan for 9 years. Matt embraced the raw lifestyle after reading Norman Walker's classic book Become Younger. Matt didn't go raw to relieve health issues; being raw simply made sense to him. After being raw for five years, Matt authored the book Raw Spirit to address the various physical challenges and spiritual shifts that going raw can involve. Matt considers his second book, Raw Success his "Bible" for the raw lifestyle. He travels worldwide teaching about healthy eating and the how to heal from degenerative disease.
Terry Nieves is the Garden-Enhanced Nutrition Education Coordinator for Mendocino County Schools and a seaweed harvester who is part of the Ocean Harvest Sea Vegetable Collective. She is passionate about bringing raw, wild, live food to people and believes that engaging the senses through food is one of the best ways to learn. Founder, president and Chief Visionary Officer of Raw Spirit Festival in Sedona, Arizona, and author of several books, Happy is the founder of Arizona's coziest and most spectacular raw vegan retreat. Australian born, Priya108 (Paul Rodney Turner) was a celibate monk for 14 years and has traveled to over 50 countries teaching about the Vedic culture of hospitality and training volunteers. He is director of Food for Life Global, headquarters for the world's largest vegan/vegetarian food relief organization with projects in over 50 countries. The charity's services include free schools, orphanages, cow sanctuaries, sustainable farms, and large scale food distribution projects that serve over 1.5 million freshly cooked vegetarian meals daily.
David Rainoshek, M.A. in Vegan/Live Food Nutrition, is the co-creator of JuiceFeasting.com with his wife, Katrina. He is a Juice Feasting coach, author, lecturer, and has Juice Fasted/Feasted for over 450 days, up to 92 days at a time. Janie Rezner is a pianist, a body worker, a gardener, a painter of houses and a cleaner of houses, a former realtor, a serious artist, the maker of mystical sounding clay instruments, and the grandmother of four lovely grandchildren. Her journey is to bring the face of the divine feminine into the world.
Rhio, author of Hooked on Raw, has been a leading proponent of the raw/living foods lifestyle through public appearances, her show on Tribeca radio, her informative raw energy hotline, and website. She is both a fantastic raw food chef and one of the leading voices on issues such as food irradiation, genetic engineering, and seed hybridization. David Ross is co-owner of the World School of Massage and Holistic Healing Arts, Asante Holistic Health Center and Day Spas, and The Creator Network. His professional background is in business, psychology, theology, education, and healthcare. An award-winning chef, Felix has professional restaurant experience in Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and France. Most recently he was the gourmet raw food chef at The Farm at San Benito, The Hippocrates Health Resort of Asia in the Philippines, recipient of the award for Best Spa Cuisine 2006 from Asia Spa Magazine. Felix is currently on a tour of raw restaurants and spas.
Living Light Associate Chef graduate Petra Schulte is Nutrition Educator for the Fort Bragg Unified School District, and coordinates the Harvest of the Month program, as well as working with Noyo Food Forest and Harvest Market to provide healthy produce for children and high school students. Petra is passionate about healthy foods and loves to help families and kids transition to more live foods in their diet.
Nomi Shannon, "The Raw Gourmet," has spent the years since 1987 spreading the word about the benefits of the raw food diet. Her seminal book, The Raw Gourmet remains one of the best organized and most popular books about the raw food lifestyle ever written. In addition to being a wonderful gourmet raw chef, Nomi is a certified Hippocrates Health Educator, and offers classes and consultations to individuals and groups who wish to improve their health "one bite at a time."
Ronnie and Minh Skurow
Ronnie and Minh are husband and wife raw food teachers whose film Going Raw was shown at the 2nd Annual Raw Lifestyle Film Festival in Los Angeles. Ronnie is an Essene minister, and Minh is a second generation raw and living food chef, born in Vietnam into a humble and loving Buddhist family. As a child, Minh began learning about plants and how to find food and medicine in the jungle.
Cherie Soria is founder and director of Living Light Culinary Arts Institute and co-owner, with husband Dan Ladermann, of three other eco-friendly businesses on the Mendocino coast in northern California. Often called the "mother of gourmet raw cuisine" Cherie has been teaching students and world famous chefs and instructors from around the world for over 16 years. Barbara and John Stephens-Lewallen
Barbara ("Babs") and her husband John, have a sustainable seaweed harvesting company, Mendocino Sea Vegetables, and were instrumental in helping to form the Mendocino Sea Vegetable Alliance, which sponsored the First Annual Pacific Seaweed Wildcrafter's Convivium in Philo, CA. The Convivium brought together chefs and experts to teach about sustainable wild seaweed hand-harvesting and edibles from the sea.
When 30-year old Angela Stokes adopted a raw food lifestyle in May 2002, the award-winning author lost an amazing 160 pounds, conquering morbid obesity. She shares her dramatic transformation with her online book Raw Emotions (soon to be published in hardcopy), which explores raw food transformations beyond the physical level. Angela offers retreats, consultations, and lectures internationally. In February 2007, she completed a 92-Day Juice Feast, and her new juicing book has inspired countless others to undertake "juicy journeys."
A classically trained chef, Vinnette earned her culinary arts degree from the Culinary Institute of America and is also a graduate of the Living Light Culinary Arts Institute, where she now teaches a variety of classes. Vinnette has two culinary passions, vegetarian cuisine and culinary education. A chef for over 25 years, she is currently Executive Chef of the Raw Food Underground and teaches culinary arts for the Palm Beach school district in Florida.
